5th day of Manga Advent Calendar 2015
Hello everyone, here is the fifth day of Manga Advent
Calendar 2015.Now as I said as yesterday’s hint that the manga is the story of
me as a weird child when I moved to a new town and all the strange antics I got
up to. Today’s manga is Yotsuba&!
I remember when I bought this manga this year, it was a day
when I was abandoned by people who have used to call my friends. As I was
looking at the bookshelves they left the shop and got the first bus home whilst
I was examining the books. I have first I was very panicked to forget where
they were but after I figured out what happened I didn’t really care. I needed
something to pick my spirits up as I was very upset at the time. I was
recommended this book as its light-hearted nature would make anybody smile, it
did make me smile. I always refer to this material whenever I am sad or upset
as it has the habit of making me feel better about myself in the fun kind we
which a cat would make you feel better but just simply rubbing its belly.
The story of Yotsuba&! Is extremely simple a young girl
called Yotsuba Koiwai and her father moved to a new city and encounter many
interesting individuals. The main story is teaching Yotsuba about the world
around her, as she is only five years old. It is basically manga about the
daily life of Yotsuba. It’s quite simple but it’s very easy to enjoy.
I really enjoy this story because of its pure simplicity
within it, each and every chapter is its individual set story with a beginning
and end in a conclusion so technically you could read any chapter out of
context and it would still make sense as an individual story. I personally
believe Yotsuba is the cutest five-year-old anime character I have ever seen
and her inquisitive nature and the way she interacts with the world remains me
of myself when I was younger. I was a very quizzical child always asking
questions such as “why is sky blue?” or “what is really at the end of the
rainbow?” And nobody really was able to answer my question at the time, so I
sought out knowledge within books. I used to have a large stock of science and
history books within my room so that I was adequately prepared for when I had a
strange question. I’ve always had the enquiry for new things, and if I have the
chance to try something new I always tried out at least once in order to have a
reason if I should or should not do it again. Yotsuba in my opinion is what I
want to be when it comes to approaching a new situation instead of being an
outsider. I hope I will be much more involved in vibrant person in the New Year
that is why I chose this manga to be part of my Manga Advent calendar.
I shall see you guys tomorrow for the 6th day of
the Manga Advent Calendar, here is this hint for today. The manga I will be
looking into tomorrow is a mystery oriented manga that has many twists and
turns and a very deep plot with many confusing elements but once you get
further and further down the rabbit hole you understand the story much clearer
than from the beginning.
Bye for now
Fiona
