Hello, Welcome to the 6th day of the manga Advent Calendar
of 2016 and today we will be looking into one of the best zombie stories “I Am a Hero “and how it was inspired
by shows like the walking dead and some of the resident evil franchise but creates something new.
The basic premise is that it follows Hideo Suzuki who was a
manga artist before the zombie outbreak this story follows how he survives through
these events. He is not the only person in his tale but use of Game of Thrones logic
means that your new characters you like a lot could die at a moment’s notice
but this is a good thing as it allows the cast to stay fresh as the situation
changes. If The Walking Dead wasn’t so popular
this would have gained top recognition for the writing and depth put into this
story. Its best to read as if I give away stuff that wouldn’t be fair for you
as the possible reader and also some of the grittier areas would be ruined if I
told you what this person goes through. I think this is a good alternate to the
walking dead as the pacing is better focused and its more concise to what real
people would do rather than been a split between life problems for a soup tv
show and how these tend to be over the top and the main cast do some stupid
things for no reason at times. In this we can understand why people are acting
in these ways and what baggage they have which effects the moral angle of the
manga as a whole which in turn makes it a much richer piece to read
My personal fact for day six is that I’m really into Halloween
as it’s the best time of year for me as a person who loves all things creepy
and spoopy. I honestly prefer thriller horror rather than gore for example I love
“The Babadook” in comparison the films like saw. Its due to there being a lot more
when it come to the main cast and atmosphere to create tension rather than
throwing gore in my face in the hope I get spooked. So tomorrows choice will
have elements of horror but the true interest will be in the suspense element
of the story is the driving factor that makes things happen.
See you all soon, regards Fiona
