Hello, Welcome to the 10th day of the manga Advent Calendar
of 2016 and today we will be looking into “Code
Geass - Nightmare of Nunnally“ and how it shows a difference in story from
the Code Geass timeline and how things diverge from what normally would be
expected from a spin off and my views on Code
Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection
The basic premise is that in this version of Code Geass is
Nunnally who gains the power of Geass instead of her brother Lelouch as told in
Code Geass, as well as a change in circumstances which results in a much darker
tale with more revenge than the original and less comic relief used to break
the action up. Now you MUST read/watch both parts of Code Geass to understand
who the cast is and what the true nature of Geass is in order to get the most
out of this story as it assumes you know the story of Code Geass with a lack of
background into the world its set in along with the politics used as part of
the plot. I can say that if you like Code Geass you will like this and it focuses
on one of the underrated element of the
story,Nunnally and how she sets wheels in motion like her brother, also there
is a lot of new ways to see loved cast in this and how they act in this new story
which has a the plot twists you could want and the ending was as good as Code
Geass ending so is definitely worth a read .if they were to make this an anime I
would be happy and that’s what I thought when I heard that there was a new Code
Geass project but what did we get we got Code Geass: Lelouch of the
Resurrection, or Code Geass season three.
Now I don’t think this anime was needed to be made as the ending
of season two was one of the most insightful ending I have seen come out of
anime (if you haven’t see it you should watch it all and then come back knowing
what I’m talking about),the ending was so good due to elements of intrigue for
some of the cast member’s fates in regards to who lives or dies. That was the
highlight for me because at that point there was no wrong angle to look at the
ending as it wasn’t clear cut as what angle was right, well that’s all scraped
as with the new season the angle that Lelouch is alive as he Is the main focus in
the new trailer. main question “did this need to be made?” No it didn’t need to
be made and from where I sit it looks like a cash grab that is spoiling one of
the best endings and one of my most loved anime ever, sure the middle of season
two was slow and there was issues with the plot but I was invested in this cast
and I stuck through it to receive a satisfying ending for my effort and now that’s
all being put down the drain as this third season doesn’t match up with Lelouch’s overall
idea. No matter how well this is done it will still be seen as a cash grab by me,
where as they could have made something like Nightmare of Nunnally instead. I will
look into the anime when it comes out next year and give it a rating then and
compare the stories at play in both works and see if it was thought through or
a cash grab like I think.
My personal fact for day eleven of the manga Advent Calendar
of 2016, is that I I have grown like light novels as there is more coming over
to the west with the popularization of them and the resent anime adaptations so
I will be looking into the anime of the year and compare it to the manga and
see what when wrong in regards to love interests the introduction of time travel
into the plotline, and why a blue haired maid is seen as go of anime girls in
this shows fan base.
See you all soon, Regards Fiona
