Visual novels

Hey guys who knows about some good visual novels because I know that they have a cult following. I know it’s a game that follows either a liner pattern or a multiple root options. I have hear of some visual novels have been made into anime such as Clannad and Steins Gate. so I was wondering what game I should play first and here from the community about the best ( and worst) visual novels.

Example of Steins Gate
Well the first thing I noticed about visual novels it that they can come in a lot of different forms such as crime, action horror etc. but they all haver underlying romantic elements what allows the player to enjoy a romance and become a more invested in the story of the protagonist, which is usually the player character that become the main element in these events that take place.  The next thing I noticed is that the stories can be focused on a particular sex. for example a game that has a lot of female fan service will appeal more to the male demographic and a game that has a “attractive male” cast will appeal to the female demographic.

this is what you would call as a male game
Next when addressing game play we must look at the patterns that the games take. Most visual novels have an interaction element in which you have options that can improve the players interaction which the game. The ways game can help the game have more replay factor is to have these choices have an effect on the ending, this is known as the “route system” this way your choices can allow you to tailor your desire. A good example of this in male visual novels is that you have the choice of multiple female heroines, and with the route system in play we can pick whatever heroine we like the best.

the choice is inportant Katawa Shoujo

This is what I have discovered about visual novels and now I need recommendations of visual novels to play, thanks for reading
