12th day of the manga Advent Calendar of 2016

Hello, Welcome to the 12th day of the manga Advent Calendar of 2016 and today we will be looking into “Maoyuu Maou Yuusha“ and how it helps people understand economics in a time of war also farming topics like crop rotation but presents it in a format that is realistic and based in real knowledge .
The plot is about Yuusha a hero in a war between demons and humans, he meets the leader of the demons called Maou. They come with a plan to stabilise the economy before the war between the two sides is over as they would both collapse due to the removal of the war based economy that was the main driving factor for prosperity, the decide to create a plan to help bring the worlds and unify them through the use of a grown-up approach by spreading knowledge via people not through government. It’s very interesting approach as it demonstrates that empowering people is what leads to real change which is good as it’s not a one change fix to solve this worlds issue.

It’s a good manga that you can learn politics from and is also well paced read for the most part, it’s good to read if you just need to detach from the world and chill out as it has some slower moments but it still held my interest, the world is the main focus which show as there could be more focus on the main cast but that if fixed the more you get into the story. Over all it’s a sweet story that’s worth some time. Is it massive and big fights like other shows? No it knows what it is and that’s what’s important as it knows how to pace  and how the dynamic cast are to watch in action. There was an anime made of this but it only the tip of this story but if you are unsure it this is worth your time watch the anime and see if you like it as I know this style is not everyone’s cup of tea and I think it’s an underrated treasure compared to bigger stories out there that fall flat this stays within its world sand works towards a reasonable conclusion that is realistic in this fantasy setting.I'm being vague but its better to read rather that me tell you the whole plot of the story at its the journey that matters not the end point for this story.

My personal fact for day twelve of the manga Advent Calendar of 2016 is that I am really into Pokémon at the moment with sun/moon just out at the moment, I chose Rowlet as my starter as he is owls and love owls, so tomorrow will be in relation to Pokémon manga but it will be one that has good story and darker overtones in the cute setting that is Pokémon and may tie into a future game coming out.

See you all soon, Regards Fiona

11th day of the manga Advent Calendar of 2016

Hello, Welcome to the 11th day of the manga Advent Calendar of 2016 and today we will be looking into “Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu “ and how it cut a lot of thee original material out and if you what to know the real story of what’s going on you should read the manga as for me it made more sense.
The plot is about Subaru Natsuki who finds himself in a fantasy kingdom where he meets a princess called Emilia, he meets other girl and traps along the way with splashes of time travel in the mix to undo some bad choices and that’s the basic plot of the manga/anime. If you think I’m being vague well that’s because there are no clear rules into how the reset mechanic works the only thing is when Subaru suffers (there is lot of that in the manga’s darker moments that come out of nowhere) which is where the comparison can be drawn between him and Shinji from Neon Genesis Evangelion as they both can be a pain to watch at times. Now the rules of time travel must be set in order that the reader can understand when the change will happen or the price the person has to pay for taking this route. For Subaru, he dies and then applies the knowledge he learned before the change to stop the diverging point in the time lines and thus change history, which can cause a worse fate to occur as demonstrated within the plot. speaking of the plot it is a bit slower passed but that means we can explore time divergences rather than just go the right choice and disregard all the what if’s but the further we get into the story we see a slow change in Subaru but I think it’s not realistic as if real people were in this situation they would show more caution and think through everything in order to predict some of the side effects.

I also think that Emilia is not best girl because their love is not explained in the manga (but there are things that make it more understandable but that’s irrelevant so I will not go into that) and there is too large a cast for me to pick one known as best girl but I can with pleasure pick the true highlight of this show, and that is Ferris winning best trap of 2016 as it took me five chapters  in both the light novel, the manga and three episodes of the anime to figure out he was a trap all along so this was amazing trap designs as it was the Schrodinger’s trap issue were Ferris as both a boy and a girl at the as time. It’s a good read and a good watch as you can now understand who the wives are and why this show was so popular and why I think it will get a second season as there was so much love for this story, also most of that love was for Rem not for Ram in the slightest which is a shame as she should get more time in a second season.

My personal fact for day eleven of the manga Advent Calendar of 2016 is  that one of my hobbies is the study of economics and how these shape the lives we live such as in spice and wolf where it is a main part of the plot line there is another manga that demonstrates  economics during a time of war with demons and heroes is a creative format that can teach people skills  when they enjoy leisure time.
See you all soon, Regards Fiona

10th day of the manga Advent Calendar of 2016 and thoughts on Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection

Hello, Welcome to the 10th day of the manga Advent Calendar of 2016 and today we will be looking into “Code Geass - Nightmare of Nunnally“ and how it shows a difference in story from the Code Geass timeline and how things diverge from what normally would be expected from a spin off and my views on Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection

The basic premise is that in this version of Code Geass is Nunnally who gains the power of Geass instead of her brother Lelouch as told in Code Geass, as well as a change in circumstances which results in a much darker tale with more revenge than the original and less comic relief used to break the action up. Now you MUST read/watch both parts of Code Geass to understand who the cast is and what the true nature of Geass is in order to get the most out of this story as it assumes you know the story of Code Geass with a lack of background into the world its set in along with the politics used as part of the plot. I can say that if you like Code Geass you will like this and it focuses on one of the underrated  element of the story,Nunnally and how she sets wheels in motion like her brother, also there is a lot of new ways to see loved cast in this and how they act in this new story which has a the plot twists you could want and the ending was as good as Code Geass ending so is definitely worth a read .if they were to make this an anime I would be happy and that’s what I thought when I heard that there was a new Code Geass project but what did we get we got Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection, or Code Geass season three.

Now I don’t think this anime was needed to be made as the ending of season two was one of the most insightful ending I have seen come out of anime (if you haven’t see it you should watch it all and then come back knowing what I’m talking about),the ending was so good due to elements of intrigue for some of the cast member’s fates in regards to who lives or dies. That was the highlight for me because at that point there was no wrong angle to look at the ending as it wasn’t clear cut as what angle was right, well that’s all scraped as with the new season the angle that Lelouch is alive as he Is the main focus in the new trailer. main question “did this need to be made?” No it didn’t need to be made and from where I sit it looks like a cash grab that is spoiling one of the best endings and one of my most loved anime ever, sure the middle of season two was slow and there was issues with the plot but I was invested in this cast and I stuck through it to receive a satisfying ending for my effort and now that’s all being put down the drain as this third  season doesn’t match up with Lelouch’s overall idea. No matter how well this is done it will still be seen as a cash grab by me, where as they could have made something like Nightmare of Nunnally instead. I will look into the anime when it comes out next year and give it a rating then and compare the stories at play in both works and see if it was thought through or a cash grab like I think.
My personal fact for day eleven of the manga Advent Calendar of 2016, is that I I have grown like light novels as there is more coming over to the west with the popularization of them and the resent anime adaptations so I will be looking into the anime of the year and compare it to the manga and see what when wrong in regards to love interests the introduction of time travel into the plotline, and why a blue haired maid is seen as go of anime girls in this shows fan base.
See you all soon, Regards Fiona
